He is currently performing for a number of acts including Lack The Low, Bjorn Again, Stand & Deliver 80’s Tribute, Mamma Mia, Popcorn, Spin, Flashback & Boombox. Bobby performs regularly at Crown Casino Melbourne to audiences between 6-900 people. He enjoys playing a range of styles, from Pop, Rock and Blues through to Soul/Neo-Soul, Jazz and Big Band. Bobby found his love of drumming at the age of 7, and received his first drum lessons at Caulfield Music School. Upon moving to high school, he joined the waiting list for drum lessons at Scotch College where he would begin guitar lessons, and shortly after begin drum lessons with Garth Thompson (The Strangers). Bobby joined his first rock band at Scotch under the mentoring of David Hicks (Wilbur Wilde, Ross Wilson, Max Merrit) and, with thanks to Jude Hallum, joined the Scotch College Big Band where he would get his first taste of big band and jazz music, chart reading, and working with larger ensembles. He had the privilege of being mentored by Darryl McKenzie and Roger Schmidli of the Hey Hey It’s Saturday band and The Australian Showband, and was fortunate enough to be invited to perform with the Darryl McKenzie Jazz Orchestra.
Bobby is dedicated to the craft of drumming, and is always seeking to improve his skills. He has attended several master-classes from artists including James Morrison (James Morrison Big Band) and David Jones (Don McLean, Don Walker, John Farnham).
